There are not very many opportunities to ride backwards on something going at 66 miles per hour, so when the chance comes, take it! Six Flags has announced that they will run the blue cars on the American Eagle backwards this summer, in observance of the coaster’s 30th birthday.
Many Six Flags Great America veterans can recall a rare time when they got to ride the coaster backwards, inspiring new thrills and screams. This summer from August 8-September 17, riders will get the chance to choose between going forward or backwards on the wooden coaster.
